WTF? (Whats The Forecast?): Partly Cloudy with Half a Chance
Cloud-Based Post Production - What Matters Most
What are the implications for the growth of the Cloud for the post production and entertainment industry?
Whether in Audio/Video Production or Post-Production, understand how cloud-based technologies impact each stage of the content distribution chain.
What services exist and what are the benefits and opportunities offered by 'Social, Cloud and Mobile'?
What is the cloud? What does the Cloud mean to you? What are cloud solutions for Post?
What are the costs associated to handling media over remote network?
Make sense of technology trends and choose the right service/tool. Rent services from cloud providers? Pay a company to build a private cloud? Build your own cloud-in-house?
Threat or opportunity? Editing, compositing, rendering, high-res archiving and consumer distribution can be managed in the cloud. The promise is time savings and cost cutting. But what about security, reliability and bandwidth.

Watch the July 25 panel discuss some final thoughts from Part 1
On Set Dailies: WTF? (or What's The Future?) Part 2
In Part 1, we asked - WTF? - "What's the Flow?" - and in our best attended luncheon event ever, Producers definitely spoke their minds and raised a few eyebrows along the way. Based on the overwhelming response to our last event, we need to continue to ask the question - WTF? But this time, we're asking "What's the Future?" for post production services on the set? Join us for Part 2 as we talk about the roles that Facilities, Cameras and Editorial play in on-set services and what very well may be the battle for the future of post production facilities, services and jobs. Get the full picture of how and why our post production landscape is changing and what you need to know to get with the future flow.

On-Set- Dailies: WTF? (or What's The Flow?)
In a very short time this revolution in dailies creation and delivery has changed the post industry quicker than Color, Hi Def and Digital Cameras did. We have assembled a panel that has participated in this revolution from the user's side.
Why did they adopt it? What are the benefits? Where are the "gotchas"? How does this affect their work flows? Is this a harbinger of a future without brick and mortar?
Come join us and find out what our distinguished panel has learned in this new age of On-Set-Dailies as we try to cover all the choices of dailies systems available.

High Noon: Shoot Out At the Editorial Corral
It's tough out here in the Wild West. And for the longest time Sheriff Avid has been keeping this Hollywood backwater safe for those brave editing townspeople. And now, fresh from NAB, it seems our Old Friend Premiere has strapped on some new guns spoiling for a showdown with the big gun. Yeah, Kid Final Cut rode into town a few years back, all puffed up and ready for some action, but it seems the Kid's kinda backed down from the fight, or has he?
On May 17, join the Hollywood Post Alliance Sales Career Resource Group for a fence-side seat as we take a good hard look down the barrel of today's edit systems. Our Moderator, Herb Dow will be saddling on up to make sure that no one gets hurt - but you sure can bet you'll get the drop on how today's edit systems stack up. We'll have some cowboys who have taken each of these systems around the bend a few times, and you can rest assured that it's not these guys' first rodeo.
Herb will be joined by Editors - Brandon Balin, Scott Carey, Billy Fox and some folks from Avid and Adobe who'll make sure that you'll be able to ride off into the sunset to edit another day.
