Art Allison
Mr. Allison joined NAB in September 1995, and his responsibilities include technical issue management with a focus on policy and technical developments of advanced television systems. He is Chairman of two Specialist Groups that draft Standards within the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) and is active in five others. He is one of the principal developers of ATSC A/65 (PSIP). He has had major involvement in enhancements to the RF and transport layers of the ATSC Standard, including ATSC Mobile. He leads the system architecture subgroup within the ATSC Mobile Specialist Group and is active in its other subgroups. He received the Outstanding Contributor Award from the ATSC in 2006. He participates in multiple standards development activities in SCTE, CEA and various other standard development organizations where the work affects broadcasting.
He provides technical guidance for NAB filings with various Federal agencies.
Prior to NAB, his experience included managing home automation systems design and TV rating system design and deployments. Early in his career he designed RF intercept systems.
Mr. Allison was awarded a BSEE from Clemson University and a MEA from George Washington University.
