Michael Brinkman was a leading figure in Hollywood's broadcast and post production communities, a vice present of strategic business development at Panasonic Broadcast & Television Systems and a Founding Member of the Hollywood Post Alliance.
In 2003, HPA and the industry lost one of its guiding lights and tireless champions and it is in his memory that the J. Michael Brinkman Scholarship and Mentoring Fund was established.
Michael spent most of his professional life helping others understand technology in the service of the creative endeavor. His contagious enthusiasm and willingness to get involved touched many lives.
HPA's goal in establishing this fund is to provide diversified educational opportunities and industry access to bring the educational experience beyond the classroom. In addition to financial scholarships, this effort will seek to help in many other ways as well, such as manufactures' donations of equipment and access to HPA educational events.
In this way, we believe Michael's memory will continue to touch lives, spread knowledge and help others.
