Graham Jones
Graham Jones is Director of Communications Engineering with the National Association of Broadcasters in Washington, DC.
With NAB, Graham works on advanced television issues and standards, promoting the interests of broadcasters in technical and regulatory matters. He chairs the ATSC Planning Committee, is a member of the ATSC Technology and Standards Group, and is active in several SMPTE engineering committees. He is associate editor of the NAB Engineering Handbook and a published author and speaker on broadcast engineering.
Graham has more than 40 years experience in the broadcast industry. He started his career with the BBC in London and since then has worked with several equipment manufacturers and as a consultant to government agencies and companies in many countries worldwide. He was Engineering Director for the Harris/PBS DTV Express—the educational road show that introduced digital television to many U.S. broadcasters. He is a Fellow of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers and currently serves as a SMPTE governor. He holds a BSc honors degree in physics from the University of Nottingham, UK, is a Chartered Electrical Engineer (C.Eng), and a member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Society of Broadcast Engineers, and the Royal Television Society. In 2004, he received the ATSC Bernard J. Lechner Outstanding Contributor award.
